Using your Debit card for online purchases is risky – if you deal with reputable national mail order companies – you’ll be okay. But for online sites like ebay – use credit card or pay pal – its’ really safer.
If you use it as Visa/MasterCard you are protected by Visa/MasterCard’s zero-liability policy.
You are not protected on purchases where your PIN number is used.
No. There is much less protection when using a debit card.
No…….better go thru the terms n conditions.
If you use the debit as if it were a credit card then you probably are covered. Normally debit cards are like checks…not covered in case of theft but debit cards are relatively secure. They require PIN numbers and I have never seen any input for a pin number online..use caution if you are asked to give out your pin.
If your debit card is a VISA you have same protection as a credit card. If it’s not a VISA – change it!
register your debit card at “verified by visa” and the visa will be protected from fraud.
